25 November 2007. The day dawned warm and
sunny, so before it got too hot we went for a short walk near the
Mountain Zebra Lodge where we saw lots of rock dassies and nesting
weavers in a tree outside one of the bungalows. We then drove around the
game reserve and saw baboons, blesbucks with their distinctive white
faces, small reedbucks, springboks, Cape mountain zebras, wildebeests,
elands, red hartebeests, and jackals. Just outside our bungalow, it was
rock dassies that dominated the scene on the first morning. On the
second morning it was vervet monkeys that occupied our terrace. |
The tortoise was almost as big as Flemming!
