Montagu: South African 'Provence'

9 December 2007. After breakfast, Eric drove us to the Montagu airstrip, which is useable for our Mooney should we come back. We then drove back towards the Cape Town area via Route 62 wine route, passing through Robertson, where we bought some excellent Robertson Winery Pinotage. On our way back to Somerset West, we visited Laurel Mitford-Barberton, her husband Edward and brother Alex in Stellenbosch. Laurel made a copy of her father’s electronic files on the Bowker family for Flemming to incorporate into his genealogy website.	Behind the old Drostdy	The Dutch reform church in Swellendam
	The view from our room at Les Hauts de Montagu reminded us of Provence with its olive trees and lavender bushes	A dip in the pool before our evening walk
	Les Hauts de Montagu was lovingly restored by French couple Eric and Myriam Brilliant	Another walk the next morning to work up an appetite for breakfast
	The swimming pool was for 'guests only' and we were the only guests on Sunday	Eric Brilliant with Flemming before driving us to his airstrip
