Normally peaceful Maribor Airport, rather
like our hotel last night, was also a hive of activity this morning as
an air show was due to start at 1 p.m. Still, it came as no surprise as
we’d been warned and we planned to be out of there before the event
began. We also needed a special slot time for our arrival in Geneva, due
to the Euro 2008 football matches.
We were lucky with the weather, as yesterday
would have been no good and the forecast for tomorrow was also bad. Even
so, the weather wasn’t good over Italy so we flew north of the Alps, via
Salzburg and Zürich. We remained on top of the clouds most of the way,
at 12,000 feet, climbing to 14,000 in the vicinity of Zurich. We did
however pick up a bit of ice on the approach into Geneva for the first
time during the whole trip.
It was a wonderful trip but, as always,
we’re glad to be back home again.
