Guest and hunting farm

There were several friendly dogs at the farm, in particular Speedy and Amigo who always accompanied us whenever we went out in the 4WD. Some German hunters and their families were staying at the farm. The daughter of one of the hunters, Carola, had been helping out for a few months and was due to leave again for Germany with her parents the next morning. For Carola’s farewell party we all jumped into a game viewing 4WD and headed for a nearby hill for a sundowner. Interestingly we found out that one of the German hunters was married to a sister of German earthrounder Jürgen Timm’s wife.
The next morning we went on a farm tour with Bernard and Speedy and saw kudus, springboks, warthogs and a giraffe. Late afternoon, we went horse riding with Thomas. Interestingly, the wild animals don’t run away when you’re on horseback. On our way back to the farm we got completely soaked in a sudden rain shower. Luckily we weren’t very far from the farm when the downpour came, so we only had to ride for a few minutes under the rain.
